Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of river pollution, the main sources of pollution and the peculiarities of pollution distribution in an emergency. The peculiarities of Qual2K, MONERIS, Aquatox software products are analyzed and determined. Based on the analysis of the aforementioned software products and several others, their common common problem is identified — limitation of rapid processing with the introduction of large arrays of variable data, such as location characteristics and reservoirs, dynamics of forecasting the spread of pollution, which requires the involvement of additional services, time and money to obtain necessary information. It is determined that the solution to this issue is the RESit web application. The main purpose of this appendix is to measure concentration at a given point in cases of emergency, such as the discharge of substances into a river bed. The basis of the mathematical principle of the application is the Fick variance equation derived by Taylor and mathematical expectation. It is established that the hydrological formulas introduced by Harvey I. Jobson are used to calculate the peak concentration of the pollutant at a specific monitoring point and the dynamics of changes in concentration over time based on the entered constant and situational data. This makes it possible not only to evaluate, but also to predict the effects of water pollution on the discharge of pollutants into the reservoir. The model is a point and perceives the reservoir as a bed divided into separate monitoring points, with constant parameters described for a specific point, which can be stored in the database and reused. The method of work of web-application is described. Comparative analysis of Qual2K, MONERIS, Aquatox software products with the RESit web application, which predicts pollution in emergencies, is presented. It is determined that the RESit web application can be used by emergency services and other environmental services to provide organizational measures aimed at eliminating the effects of water pollution in reservoirs caused by man-made and natural emissions.
