The fiber­-optic aircraft control system

Abstract

The scientific problem of using fiber-optic transmission systems in aircraft control systems was described. The analysis of studies in this field from published source of information is made and known examples of fiber-optic transmission systems using in aircraft are considered. The comparative assessment of existing aircraft control systems is described. It is shown that the control system of the aircraft is one of the critical and vitally important systems, correct work of which influences largely on the safety of operation of the aircraft. In modern conditions, many man-made and natural factors can influence the control system of an aircraft. Therefore, an important purpose is counteraction to natural and artificial electromagnetic interference; providing weight reduction and improvement the aviation equipment for protection from fires. This properties ultimately directly affect the overall reliability of the aircraft. Thus, it is necessary to create aircraft control systems, which are able to provide stable operation during complex radio and electromagnetic conditions and will meet the requirements that are described in the article. The using of fiber-optic transmission systems in aircraft control systems is one of the effective steps in this direction. The urgency of this investigation was proved and the main directions of research regarding the creation of fiber-optic system that control manned aircraft was determined.
